My mouth is killing me!?!

Question: I went to the dentist yesterday at 2pm...so thats like 32 hours ago (i think)

I got two cavities filled on my right side and one one my left. Well the numbing stuff didnt wear off untill around seven. After I could move my face again I noticed I was in a lot of pain on my right side.

It is like I can feel where they put the shots of novocaine. It hurts so bad. I also have a severe cold so is it possible bacteria got in there or something. I dont know.

Umm any ideas on what to do? (i have taken IB profin and I tylenol severe cold-for my cold)

Well, after the filling of cavities atleast now that it is about 48 hours there is no reason for pain to be there. Did your dentist take x-rays of the teeth before filling them up? If the cavities were big it would have been better to have taken x-rays, and to have advised a root canal. If you had cold at the time of the filling your doctor should not have filled your teeth. But if you developed the cold later, I doubt if the cold virus would be a cause for the pain. For your cold as well as the pain 1 tylenol twice a day is good enough. If pain persists go to your doctor and ask him the reason for the pain. Ask him all the questions you have asked here. Tell him to give you the reason for the pain. And the solution. And ask him to solve the problem. No, no, there should be no pain at all. Wish you well.

itll be soar for a week maybe. take advil tho. ever 4-8 hours

go to the dentist again, because if this is abnormal pain there is nothing worse you can do but let it sit. If you have an infection, it will be more sensitive and difficult to remove and fix if you let the bacteria grow and muliply.
Hope I Helped!

Der shldnt b any pain aftr d restorations, unless of course there is a periapical infection.
Did ur dentist take a radiograph bfor wrking on ur teeth?
Or mayb he/she didnt administer d local anaesthesia properly n its 1 of d complications.
Do not delay n go 2 ur dentist n get it checked.and plz do not panic n stay calm.
Ders nothing serious coz u wudnt hv asked dis question here if it was.
Stay calm.:)

You didn't say whether or not the fillings are on the top or bottom? If they were on the bottom they gave you the Novocaine as a nerve block and sometimes the injection site gets bruised. This could cause the pain and swelling. Because the jaw is dense, the nerves branch out all along the side of your jaw and face (thus the half tongue and half lip numbness depending on which side) on the upper you can give injections pretty much anywhere a tooth needs to be worked on. Bacteria can't get in there so don't worry about that. Rinse with warm water and salt and keep taking the ibuprofen and you should be feeling better within a few days. Just so you know any time you have a cold all your top teeth could hurt because the membrane that separates the sinus and roots of the teeth are thin and the pressure from the sinuses will cause pressure and you might think it's your teeth. If it gets worse IE: more swelling, problems swallowing or sensitivity to hot or cold call the dentist back. Good luck
