Can you help me convince my parents to get me braces, HELP PLEASE!!?!
Question: Well I think I need braces because I have an overbite and a couple years ago I had a tooth removed on my bottom and not there is a lot of big spaces(for that my sister says I have caveman teeth..lol.) and my mom says I have pretty teeth. But anyway she says we ddon't have the money for them b/c we live week to week on paychecks and soon my uncle will move in and pay us $400/month. So what should I do because I really want and need braces? My sister does't need them and so its only me who does. Should I just like have her take me to the dentist and tell him to tell her that I need braces or something? Ideas please!!!!!

Braces are very expensive, and alot harder to keep clean then having "bare" teeth. If you feel like you REALLY REALLY need braces, then you just might have to wait until you can afford them yourself. If thats not an option to you, then try talking to your parents to see what you can do to convince them to get you braces. Since you have spacing and not crowding, i doubt you're dentist will tell you're parents you NEED braces, because they usually only do that when theres crowding since crowding makes it hard to keep teeth clean and that can become a health hazard.
Like i said, try to talk to your parents. Share your thoughts and let them know you're capable of making it of their money's worth. If all else fails, wait till you get old enough to handle it yourself, otherwise its pretty much out of your hands!

Braces on average run about five grand. If your folks don't have the dough, what do you expect them to be able to do.
How about you get a job, and help pay for them.

Braces are expensive, and a huge committment over time. Of course you have to be very serious about keeping your mouth clean and avoiding sweets and soda.
That being said, you may or may not even need them. Until you are evaluated by an orthodonist and given a payment plan, your family really can't make an informed decision. You may be able to get braces at a cheaper rate at a dental school.
In reality, I often say, "Do well in school, get a good job, and pay for the braces yourself when you are a young adult."
