Do you think she'll go for the braces?!

Question: I beg my mom for everything and the stuff that honestly I really do want like staying home from school, getting a puppy, taking me places, going out to eat etc. and now I really want and need braces. She says she doesn't have the money but soon we will be getting an extra $400/mo. So do you think if I beg her for a month or so she might go for it? Also any tips on getting her to say yes?

Well, she should say yes, I mean how many people ask their parents for braces? If I were your mom, I would be happy that you were taking responsibility for your teeth.

Anyway, I'd give you some tips, but you know your mom best so use what works.

I know that nagging works on my parents though.

Just make an appoitment with your dentist and he/she will tell your mam if your really need the braces or not . It will be better if your dentist tells your mam.

first of all gett a retainer

tell her she is being a complete *** ! (which she is !)
If you have crooked teeth you NEED braces unless you want crooked teeth for the rest of your life O_O And if she doesnt have the money maybe you should chip in a little ? Save up

well she might truthfully explain to her why you want braces then she might go for it

stop asking her for so much other stuff...maybe then she can afford it

She might, but keep in mind, braces are expensive. I think mine altogether cost around $4,000. If you really need them, point that out to her. Don't annoy her with it but ask her occasionally and see what she says.

Sure it is about 1/3 of the actual cost if you get them done at a dental university where a student would do them under the instructors supervision. I saved thousands that way and they came out great!

it might work, but depends on what kind of person she is.

maybe make her feel bad, and say you might grow up with horrible teeth..

maybe? im notsure.

Well if you're desperate, tell your mom that if you don't get braces you'll have bad teeth for life and if you get it later, it will be kinda weird to have a 25 year-old wearing braces. Tell your mom that it costs about $2000 and if it is $400/mo you could get braces in about 5-7 months!!!!

First of all STOP Begging. I can honestly say NO parent like begging, neady children.
Mabey If you Just sat down with her and had a RESPONSIBLE talk with her probably she would start to think it over and eventually come to reason.
=]

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT BRACES? YOU CAN'T EAT CANDY, SODA OR SWEETS, YOU HAVE TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH 3 TIMES A DAY, THEY ARE SOAR, AND YOU HAVE TO GET THEM TIGHTENED EVERY MONTH!

Well, you should beg her earnestly, and ask her to buy you a dental insurance before you go for braces! This Orthocare insurance cost you for about $80 a year, and you may save up to 65% of the price of braces. I think with this insurance coverage, she might allow you to go for it.

Your mom is not your servant. Do you not have a conscience? Sounds like you are a selfish child who WILL have a RUDE awakening when you have to fend for yourself. How horrible for you to beg your mom for all the junk in the world that you don't really need, and then make her feel horrible if she doesn't give it to you. Too bad she gives into your selfish demands. Don't you want her to have back surgery. She gave you life, the least you can do is quit sucking all of the money and life out of her.

Grow up. Get a job and pay for your own braces. Oh wait, if you stay home from school you won't ever get a good enough job. This is the saddest story of child manipulation of a parent. Someday you WILL regret how you've taken advantage of her. Honey, you need to see someone about controlling your greed and selfishness.
