Where is Surface B on tooth #12?!

Question:

Where is Surface B on tooth #12?

I have to get a filling. My dentist wants to use resin but insurance will only pay 50%, silver is paid at 80%. This tooth doesn't even really show unless I open my mouth. Should I go with silver?

Answers:

Surface B is on the cheek side of the tooth. It stands for buccal.
It may show if you smile. generally, a silver filling will require more drilling of the tooth because mechanical retention is needed. With a resin filling, it is bonded in place.
