Does taking off an orthodontic (palatal) expander hurt?!
Question: I'm getting mine off in May so I wanted to know if it hurts when the orthodontist takes it off or not.

It doesn't hurt at all, its the best feeling ever, once you get it taken off you can actually touch the roof of your mouth again and talk normally! You may feel a slight pinch when the orthodontist disconnects it but it doesn't last for more than a minute.
No, don't worry about it. It didn't hurt me at all.
It doesn't really hurt. When your orthodontist cracks the sealant it will be loud. My ortho told me not to worry if it felt like my teeth came out with the expander because the stuff is really tight around your teeth, but you don't need to worry about it.
