regular soft toothbrush, electric is fun for little ones, and it encourages them to brush more often...but a regular one you can clean better with your own strokes of your brush. Reason for a soft toothbrush so it don't damage your gums.

I have tried both, I prefer the regular brush, don't have proven facts, just my experience...

electric, but only if u use it for long enough. i prefer the colgate 360.
