Why does my new filling taste like metal?!

Question: I recently had a filling in one of my molars replaced b/c it fell out. Now I have a terrible metal taste in my mouth all the time. I have 12 other fillings (some that surround the one I just got repaired and the metal looks different.. more shiny than the new one). I never had any of my other fillings taste like this. Whats going on with this filling??

The metallic taste you have is called galvanic current. It is due to the dentist putting in a different metal from the previous ones. Dentistry is constantly improving and this new filling sounds like one of the new improved ones.
Since it is different, there is the possibility of electrons flowing from one filling to the other. From the other filling metallic ions flow and you taste them, thus the metallic taste.
What do you have to do? Nothing. Wait for a while and a thin, invisible layer of corrosion will form over the new filling and the galvanic current will stop naturally. It is a little annoying at first but it will go away.

Make a free call to your dentist and just Ask! He's the one who gave it to you, he should know.

maybe they didnt put a clear coat thing ok it or something
