Oh God Please Help..Wisdom Teeth Extracted?!

Question: I really hope someone can help me because I start a new job on Monday. I went on Thurs to have 3 impacted wisdom teeth out and 1 regular out. I knew I would get swelling but jeepers I can't even explain what I look like. My whole face, jaw line and under jaw is swollen. I am having a hard time opening my mouth it hurts so much.

Dentist said that they were real bad, which I am assuming is why everything is like it is. But can anyone please give me some hints on how to relieve pain and swelling. Meds work but don't like taking the during the day.

Thanks

Well good thing you have the weekend because that pain should diminish significantly over the weekend. When you go to work on Monday, just bring plenty of ibuprofen with you. That should help with the discomfort. The swelling just takes time to go away. I know, when I had my wisdom teeth out I looked like Maria Shriver for a while...lol. It will be fine. Just explain to people at work what work you just had done and they will understand. You should be able to talk by then.

Dont't skipthe medicines....esp. the antibiotics.
There is a serious risk of infection if u do .
Keep the wounds clean .
If ur dentist has used a periodontal pack, and if it starts coming off or chips go visit him.

Have you tried ice packs and sucking on ice chips? Take the meds.

Ice will help swelling, but don't leave it on too long. Contact your dentist NOW & explain the situation. You shouldn't be in a lot of pain if it's been more than 24 hours. CALL NOW DON'T WAIT!

Don't take it so serious Madam, everything will be already in a few days. Just take the medicine.

hey hun,
i bet your hurting really bad..sorry to hear that.i think taking ib Motrin and chewing on ice worked great for me,then at night, take the med's that the dentist gave ya,take it and that should help ya sleep..plus there's that stuff called orajel maximum strength, put that on the places around the enamel area,it could help.
