Braces.....2 Years?!

Braces.....2 Years?

Me and my ortho were talking today about getting my braces soon. And he said about 2 years! I was kind of sad to hear that I thought maybe a year close to two.
Does anyone know if these are always completely accurate can my teeth be straightened a little bit before?
