Is is true that you have to get braces before you get Invisalign??!

I don't think it's true. They're presented as an alternative to braces, unless you're under 14 years old or your teeth need a lot of intervention.
Each one starts out not fitting slightly, and you wear it for a couple of weeks until your teeth have moved into it and the retainer feels loose. Then you go to your dentist and get a new one for the next stage.

if you teeth are extremely crooked you may need to wear metal braces to straighten them out some, then invisalign can be used.
but for most people all they have to do is wear invisalign
