it didnt hurt for me.. just dont eat anything for the first 2 weeks... drink a lot of liquid, like milkshakes, or meal replacements..

take some advil and use orajel.

Motrin. or Advil. (Ibuprofen)

It's painful to be beautiful. When you get your braces off, it will all be worth it!!!!

Just take some pain pills and buck up. I have braces and I don't see what all the fuss is about, I mean they hurt the first time but since then..... just a little. I still eat chips, and all the stuff I'm not supposed to.

I have braces and when they tighten them on me the pain is not bad anymore becuase i am used to it. It will take time but it will go .

Sorry, there is nothing you can do about. You'll get used to the tightening and won't even notice the pain. Just give it a few months and you'll be fine.

Use Advil. It will definitely help!

I'm sorry... but you gotta go through it

I have braces.. and get mines tightened.. they do hurt, but i get frustrated, and i start chewing. I remeber like the 2nd day they were tightened.. it hurted, i started chewing gum, it hurted but then i was getting use to chewing again. It did hurt.. but i cant live on liquids either. ?

You can take medicine, but when I had braces I just delt with it, I didn't take medicine.

GET a knife stab yourself and Woalah, you might feel the pain for a few minute but it will be all gone . And you will never fell any thing horable again

take a stronger pain reliever for a day or so,you might be ready to go up to adult doses of ibuprofen or tylenol, if your mouth is sore inside just use a little wax,

I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. your teeth hurt because they are being pulled around by the brace. you just have to put up with it. but it is all worth it in the end!

It is normal to hurt. My orthodontist reccommends sugarfree gum for the first couple of days. It helps the ligaments around your teeth to relax. We also have a bit wafer...ask ortho for one. Advil and oragel.

Sorry, i don't think there is a way other than avoiding hard foods for a while. Try taking some stronger medicine, because i can remember being told once that the guidelines for medicine/pills aren't related to your weight, but due to your age because of the development of your organs...or something along those lines...You might want to doubt check with your orthadontist though.

Your teeth are being pulled from their present position to one they don't really want to go to. I always had to carry around Tylenol when I had my retainer adjusted but I still ate normal food....after I had taken the Tylenol 30 minutes prior. Beyond that, you have to live with it until the teeth are on their way a few days. Sorry!!!

they don't hurt me u can just take like a pill or something

pain killers!

i always take aspirin(ibuprofen)before the my tightenings, and it didn't hurt until that next day. you should be able to eat other things besides yogurt and jello. I have everything. even sugar free gum!
