Answers:

According to a text that I have from school... "The average time is about 12 days, with a range from 10 days for rapid calculus (tartar) formers to 20 days for slow calculus formers" and mineralization can begin as early as 24 to 48 hours. So, the plaque building process can start in the 24 hours after your dental cleaning and can take between 10 to 20 days to turn into tartar. Hope that helps!
