Do crest white strips make damage teeth and gum by making it sensitive?!

Question: also is it ok for a 14 year old to use it? does it really make a difference?

Tooth enamel is the hardest surface in your body... yes, even harder than bone. The only way to damage it is to actually break it or chip it. With that being said... whitening your teeth does not damage your enamel.

People frequently report sensitivity with whitening procedures, though, especialy if you get the product on your gums. You can avoid -or at least reduce this- by wiping any excess product off of your gums and by using an over the counter fluoride rinse for 2 weeks before you do the whitening. The fluoride will help reduce tooth sensitivity, but not gum sensitivity.

Lastly, it is fine for a 14 year old to whiten their teeth (with their parent's permission) as long as they don't have any primary teeth left.

I hope this helped you... good luck!

Yes they do damage your teeth, so I think you should use the rembrandt because they have one especially sensitive so that it doesnt hurt your teeth.

I used them for a couple of days and had to stop. They made my gums really sore and my teeth really sensitive to cold.

i would also like an answer to this, but im going to ask my dentist and i think they do make your teeth sensitive & i think they're ok for 14 year olds to use.

Crest strips work really well, but they do make your teeth very sensitive, sometimes achy depending on your personal level of sensitivity. Some experts believe that it removes some enamel from your teeth. I stopped using them because it got really painful. You can always call your dentist and ask them.

If you use it in moderation it won't damage teeth. Don't use it everyday for the rest of your life because then yes, it will cause damage! If you use it to get your teeth the color you'd like them and then every once in a while to brighten up your smile you should be fine.
As far as I know a 14 year old should be fine using them!

they dont damage your teeth....they make them sensitive because it eats away tooth enamel...but the sensitivity goes away. and yes they work. and no it doesnt matter how old you are. i got my teeth whitened at the dentist when i was 13...and i have used the crest strips for years. no big deal!

I used them a few times and my teeth began to really hurt. I would get a sharp shooting pain through my gums and the root of my tooth.

my brother tried those and he had sensitive gums and teeth for weeks, and said they tasted really nasty!

try homemade whitening:
mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, and brush your teeth with it- it's less damaging than strips, and your teeth will be at least 2 shades whiter 10 minutes after you brush with it

Crest whitestrips do not work dont waste your money. A way to keep your teeth white is to not smoke, try not to drink too much tea, coke or other dark colored drinks.
