Does the size of the gap matter for tooth implantations?!

Question:

Does the size of the gap matter for tooth implantations?

Answers:

Lots of factors in determining suitability for implant placement...

- you need at least 7 mm of space in the gap between existing teeth.

- you need at least 10mm of solid bone to securely anchor an implant. The presence of the mandibular nerve in your lower jaw and the sinuses in the upper jaw complicates matters-- If there is not enough bone over those structures, an implant will impinge on them and cause problems.

- medical conditions. Implant surgery is invasive and only those people in acceptable health should do it.

Get a dentist to evaluate you, and good luck.
