Long-term effect of not pulling impacted Wisdom Teeth?!

Question: Three of my four wisdom teeth are quite impacted. In fact it looks like they're taking a nap on their side. I really wouldn't like to have my wisdom teeth pulled if possible because I'm terrified of being put under and in addition they will have to cut through the gums to get to the teeth. My question is: do I absolutely need to have my wisdom teeth pulled and what will the long term effects be if I put it off? I notice a bit of crowding on the bottom row of my incisors but I'm not sure if that's due to the wisdom teeth or if they just grew like that. Thanks for your help guys!

All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted. They caused me no pain, my dentist only noticed when he did my annual x-rays that they were coming in impacted. My dentist told me that the teeth would continue to grow, and would push my other teeth around and out of alignment. Since they are impacted that problem would basically not go away. They are growing in the wrong direction, meaning as they grow out they will continue to push against your teeth.

Don't mess up your other teeth. I was terrified as well of being put under, but I did it (shaking with tears streaming down my face as I was given the anesthesia) and saved the alignment of the rest of my teeth. I woke up feeling drunk, and took advil on a schedule (instead of the narcotics they prescribed by personal choice) for four days and had some mild jaw pain.

You'll be okay!!!

Well, impacted wisdom teeth can cause alot of pain, as well as screwing up the alignment of the rest of your teeth. It really isn't that bad to have them removed. It will solve the problems. I had all 4 of mine removed, only 2 of them were impacted, but they caused my jaw to ache. I had braces before, and wasn't going to take the chance that they mess up my 8 thousand dollar smile. You really should get them removed.

if the dentist says that u need them taken out theres a reason idk what reason but i suggest u do what the dentist says...

if they arent causing pain then leave em alone!!mine are growing in like yours and my lower right was killing me so i had it removed but since my lower left didnt bother me and never has my dentist said there was no need to remove it.trust me they will cause pain long before they hurt your other teeth!!but i will tell you that if theyre impacted then chances are they will begin to hurt!mine started hurting when i was 25 and i just finally got it removed(im almost 28)its not something you want to go through so trust me get em out as soon as they cause u problems if not before

eventually you will have such horriable pain you will be begging for them to pull them. you don't have to be put under for that. local numbing solution is fine. you would feel anything but, pressure.
