If braces are needed...can I use invisalign instead? I'm 26?!

Question: YOU NEED TO CONSULT WITH AN INVISALIGN-CERTIFIED DENTIST TO SEE IF YOUR CASE QUALIFIES.

Answers: YOU NEED TO CONSULT WITH AN INVISALIGN-CERTIFIED DENTIST TO SEE IF YOUR CASE QUALIFIES.

Invisalign has some limitations on the type and amount of tooth movement is can achieve and not all orthodontic cases are suitable so you will need to consult with an orthodontist that offers Invisalign treatment and let he/she determine whether or not you are a candidate.

Good luck!

I have invisalign and I'm 30...they are more for adults anyway. I love them and I only have to wear the top for 9 months and the bottom for a year and my bottom teeth are pretty bad. Much shorter than traditional braces and less expensive too although that would depend on where you live, etc.

I would go to several places for quotes.

My childhood dentist turned out to have the best price....$3,800 for everything including custom bleaching kit. (Houston, TX)

Invisilign were touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Several years down the line and the opinion has changed. Some orthodontists have stopped using them altogether; others use them initially but then find that they have to finish off with regular braces anyway. They're not really suitable for really crooked teeth, they're more expensive, and you have to take them out anytime you have a drink or have something to eat.

If you can, try lingual braces instead (they go on the inside of the teeth so nobody except your lover will know that they are there) - although you might have a bit of a lithp while your tongue gets used to them.
