How big does a cavity have to be to get a root canal?
How do you know if you need a root canal or not. I have a black hole in my tooth its big enough that you can see it and it hurts once and awhile but isn't very noticeable, will this mean I will need root canal treament?

Same thing happened to me and they gave it a filling, and it failed. I got a root canal soon after and then a crown..... very expensive and no fun
