I just came back from the dentist, she extracted one of my molars. She asked me to put ice on it from outside.
Any idea why? Does ice help the numbness ? Or does it help swelling.... or some other reason...?

it helps the swelling, swelling causes pain. less swelling=less pain.
she prolly said to put it from the outside so that ur wound doesn't get infected
