Whats the line on my back tooth? please help?!
Question: I had a filling in my back tooth after it became very sensitive and painful. It made it a little better because it no longer hurt all the time but its still painfull when hot, cold and sweets touch it. Its not too big a problem though cause im now used to living with it. But on the tooth there a horizontal grey line about a milimeter above the gum which is really painfull to put anything hot or cold on. What is this line? has anyone else had anything similar? I dont want to go to the dentist because at the time i got the filling he stuck a big metal pointed thing in it and it was the worst pain ive ever felt...and not been back since.

Hi, this could be where he had to lower the gum to work on the tooth or it may be the edge of the filling. The pointed thing he put into your mouth sounds like an injection. When you go back to the dentist, and at some time you are going to have to, ask him to apply numbing jell on your gums before the injection.
