sometimes when you have injections, a bump will come up at the injection site. This is nothing unusual or anything to worry about. They will go away with time--usually in a couple of days but it is not unheard of for them to hang around for a week. I got a flu shot during flu season and had a bump on my arm at the injection site for a little over a week. My dogs got their vaccinations and each of them had a lump at the injection site that hung around for almost 3 weeks.

Your dentist may have had to drill near the nerve of your tooth and this is the pain you are feeling. It should go away in a few days to a week, but depending on the amount of trauma your mouth received, it could last for a while.

I had 2 fillings replaced not long ago and the dentist had to drill deeper than he expected. The nerves bothered me for about 4 weeks before they stopped hurting completely--the worst pain was the first 3 days after the visit. After that it was sporatic and seemed to hurt worse if I ate or drank anything that was too hot or too cold. I managed the pain with ibuprofen.

If you are concerned about the pain you are feeling then talk to your dentist about it. He or she should be able to reassure you that what you are experiencing is normal and tell you how to manage the pain or to check it out and see if there is something wrong.
