how do you remove stains from your teeth

Personally, I am too frugal to buy those expensive whiteners or get a treatment at the dentist. What I do is buy a regular whitening toothpaste (I use MentADent). I brush my teeth as usual. Then I put extra toothpaste on the toothbrush and concentrate on the front of my teeth. I always see a difference. If there are actual stains, it may take a few days, but you should see some change each day.
