I got mine off 2 weeks ago: you go in and they use this tool and just snap them off, then you spit them out of your mouth and go brush the extra cement off.? Then they sand the rest of the cement.? You get some exrays; pictures; and they take impresions again.? You come back in a few days and they give you your retainer. You go back first in one month, then three, than six, and then every year. You wear your retainer for one year every night, and then two or three times a week until your eighteen.? Then once a week you try it on just to make sure it still fits for like 20 more years.Tip: WEAR IT EVERY NIGHT!! I skipped ONE night and stuff mooved, my retainer was sooo uncomfortable that night!Have fun and eat lots of taffy!!P.S. I got mine off te date they said, but sometimes they delay it.
yup sometimes they tell you they're gonna take them off but they delay it to like couple of more weeks..but it depends on your teeth

well its really annoying when they get the cement off but then its off in like 5 minutes the worst part is the retainers you gotta keep them in all the time
