Do any of the over-the-counter teeth whiteners really work?

I haven't used the crest white strips, but I have used over the counter whitening systems that come with the mouth tray and gel. This did not work well since it was not fitted properly for my teeth. I have heard various opinions regarding white strips, some positive and some negative. The one major thing I was told with the Crest strips is that they are not long enough to reach all the teeth on the top or bottom therefore you end up using more then one strip on the top to get each tooth.

I went to my dentist and he recommended getting a mouth piece that will actually be created for my mouth. It is a little expensive (200 bucks CAD) but worth every cent. It also came with 6 tubes of bleaching gel The bonus..it's a one time buy, I bought the mouth piece 4 years ago, still fits, still works excellent, and the tubes of get are about 10 bucks each, you only need to use half a tube to get white, and...bonus again, it lasts for at least 6 months!!!

The most important thing to note is when the product is coming from the dentist you know your teeth are in good hands. The dentist is not going to provide something that could potentially damage your teeth, they aren't that evil.
