I have invisalign and...?!
Question: Hi all,
I have invisalign and I only have to have 10 aligners. But my question is, when I get them off will i have to wear retainers? And will I get a permanent metal retainer thing behind my bottom teeth, or is that decided by my dentist?

Hey you sound like me with 10 sets. I also have invisalign express and although they say that it should only take 6 months to straighten them with each set being in for 2 weeks at a time.. mine is taking a little longer because my orthodontist likes me to have them in for 3 weeks. There is no retainer that comes with it.. the only thing you should do to prevent your teeth from moving back is wear the 10th set every night to bed.. like you would a retainer. Thats what my Dr. told me and that's what I plan on doing! My boyfriend and friends complain ALL the time about how after having braces for x amount of years they didn't wear their retainers and now they wish they had because their teeth moved back. Not to mention they are all jealous of my version of braces and want them badly. So wear your 10th set to bed every night after youre done wearing them to move your teeth and you'll be fine! (The Dr. should also remove the attachments he placed on your teeth after called buttons.)
