Will my credits from Dental assisting transfer to a dental hygiene program?!

Question:

Will my credits from Dental assisting transfer to a dental hygiene program?

or could i test out of some classes based on job experience?

Answers:

No - I'm in dental hygiene school right now. We have many former dental assistants in our class. They have valuable experience to help them in the course, but one must take all of the required courses to finish school. Hygiene Schools are doing their best to prepare you for the national boards and for your career, so it's best to take ALL of the courses anyways. If you have taken any basic pre-requisite courses such as Introductory Chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and you are transfering into a Bachelors program, you may be able to transfer those credits. It all depends on your level of education.
