I'm happy this forum exists.. I've been through a living hell this weekend. On Friday I had a tooth extracted, it was a long 2 pronged molar. Anyway I had this decay on the side of the tooth and it had reached the point of sever pain so I went to the dentist and the x-ray showed some infection. The dentist had me take some clindamycin for 2 days before the extraction day and I when I went back Friday for the pull the dentist didn't even take another x-ray to see if the tooth's infection was ok so that the dentist could determine if the tooth should be pulled or not.. Anyway the tooth was pulled and I went home. I went to sleep like any other night but after about 4 hours of sleep I woke up and I knew something was wrong. I woke my wife and told her that I didn't feel right... we have this Braun ear-thermometer that gives a temperature reading in just a few seconds my temp was 103.4 and had reached a high reading of 104.1. I got up and ran to the tub and filled it with cool water

Call your dentist or GP. An untreated infection, above the heart, can have serious consequences, make them follow through on your treatment since it sounds as if your dentist was paying more heed to his calendar than your head.
