I am a dentist, and it should be puss. This means you have an active infection somewhere. You may have either a tooth that is dead or severe gum tissue disease. Go to the dentist for an examination. It can be other infections of the mouth, but it is most likely teeth or gum related.

It may be tonsil stones (tonsillolith) that have dislodged.
You may have an active infection, (a dentist wrote that above me) and need to see a dentist...that's quite possible- I wouldn't doubt a dentist! However...
I get tonsiloliths (google that word) and that sounds like what you're describing to me. They're kind of hard and smell bad.
