Could My Face Swell Up?

I have to wait till tomorrow to get into my dentist. I have a slight throbbing tooth ache. The receptionist asked me if my face was swollen at all. I told her that I though it might be just a little but if it is, I can't see it with my eyes, it just feels a lil swolen...or that could be the throbbing. I am curious if my face could swell up suddenly? Any dentists or endodontists out there? Is it possible that at this point I could swell up? Tomorrow is my apmt....9 a.m.....what are the odds I'll be ok till then?

My son is 7. Last night 5-6-07 he came up to me and said that he had a bump in his mouth. I looked and it was a bump by one of his back teeth. within 30 minutes that side of his cheek and jaw was swelling. I took him to the urgent care and they sent us home saying it was a start of a canker sore. Well this morning he woke up and the swelling hadn't gone down and it was starting to swell down his neck. We went to the dentist this morning he has an abscessed tooth. So he is on antibiotics for 7 days and gets the tooth removed may 22. So keep your dentist appt for tomorrow you will be okay, take tylenol or motrin for pain and us ice packs or warm packs which ever feels better to you. Hope you feel better soon.
