Has anyone had a temporary anchorage device put in for braces, does it hurt when!

Question:

Has anyone had a temporary anchorage device put in for braces, does it hurt when they drill into your gum??

Answers:

The orthodontist will do this. Most of the orthodontists do this now because it allows for a much shorter time in wearing braces. They will get the gums numb before they do this. Pain is very minimal, you may not have any pain at all, with the topical anesthetic gel.
