Can i get my teeth super white just by brushing and using mouthwash everyday?!

Question:

Can i get my teeth super white just by brushing and using mouthwash everyday?

i want them to get super white, but will they ever become "not so tarnished"? What different things can i use on my teeth to make them whiter other than white strips?

Answers:

No way jose! Brushing, flossing and rinsing only help keep plaque and tartar off your teeth and prevent cavities. Just because your teeth aren't white doesn't mean they are not clean. Your natural tooth color may not be super white, but that's as white as it's gonna get unless you get a professional whitening treatment. The latest technology in tooth whitening is called zoom!, and you can only get it done at the dentist. You'll sit in the chair for about an hour, during which the assistants will etch and pumice your teeth and apply a whitening gel on each tooth. The gel will activate and get warm when it is zapped with a lazer. This chemical will reach deeper into the tooth than tooth paste and mouth rinse can, and it will whiten your teeth from the inside out. Depending on your age and density of your teeth, you may experience mild to extreme sensitivity during the treatment, but it is very temporary and it will go away in a few hours. Zoom! laser whitening usually ranges at about $400, but it is worth every penny. You will walk out an hour or so later with whiter teeth.

If laser whitening is not within your budget, you do have another option. You can do what we call whitenining trays, which are just as effective, but they do not provide instant results. What you'll do is, at the dentist, they will take some impressions of your teeth so they can make models out of them. With these models they will make plastic trays that will fit perfectly around your teeth. You will be provided with whitening gel, which you place in the trays and put them on your teeth overnight for about 2 weeks. The sensitivity is significantly less, but the process takes longer. During these 2 weeks that you are whitening, you should avoid drinking coffe, carbonated drinks, candy, tea, or anything that is known to stain teeth or cause cavities. The pores of your teeth will be open, so consuming any of these will backfire. Your food might end up staining your teeth more instead of whitening. The cost for this is about $150 - 200. The gel, when you run out, is about $40-$60. This treatment is relatively cheaper than laser, more lengthy, but with the same effect. This way you can also customize how white you want your teeth and how long you wear the gel, to reduce the sensitivity. Other options like whitening strips and stuff you buy at the farmacy just doesn't work on everyone.
