You will be just fine. If you have gingivitis, the doctor will probably recomend that you get scaling and root planing done to all of your teeth so that the bacteria from the pockets of your teeth can be removed. The bacteria can cause pain, swelling, and bleeding at the gum site while destroying healthy gum tissue. The deep cleaning will remove all of the bacteria so that the gum tissue can heal. Over a period of time, if you don't go, you are likely to have tooth loss and health problems that could have been avoided. So my advice is to go before your teeth get destroyed by the bacteria, you will thank yourself later.
