Wisdom teeth removal and impacted canine tooth operation! How much does it hurt?!

Question: I am a 16-year-old girl and I am getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed and an impacted upper canine tooth exposure in the same operation tomorrow under general anesthetic. I'm also getting 5 baby teeth pulled that never came out by themselves. I'm just wondering how much this will hurt, how swollen my face will get, how many days of school I'll probably have to miss, and basically what the operation will be like. My oral surgeon never went into detail with me at the consultation.

I would definitely ask your oral surgeon about any questions you may have. It is your job to find out what will be happening to your body.

From personal and friend experience:
I had only three wisdom teeth removed and I was given nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and I was awake listening to my iPod. I could feel a bit of pressure and slight irritation.
My friend when under (general anesthetic) and she was so glad she did because you do not feel anything or remember anything. Its 5, 4, 3, gone.

Because so much is going to happen in your mouth, you will most likely be out of school for at least a week. I did mine over a 4 day weekend (Fri-Mon) and went to school on Tuesday with a bit of puffiness.

You will be extremely puffy on the sides of your face near your mouth, and I mean extremely puffy for the first few days. I had to hold my face walking around my house because it was too heavy at first. (I do not want to scare you but it is true with me and it was with my friend; she wrapped her face up like she had the mumps). And, because of all the bleeding, your cheeks will turn yellowish but it will fade along with the puffiness.

I have never had a "impacted upper canine tooth exposure" so I can't tell you what it's like. I don
