Ignore the suggestion to eat 'shrooms. They may be "natural", but the wrong ones are deadly.
If you decide to do the acid, know your source and where he/she got it.
Personally, I did it three times and it changed my life. I learned so much in those 12 hour trips; more than any other concentrated learning opportunity. The depth and breadth of my emotions were phenomenal. I was better able to understand my partner's point of view. Even the hallucinations told me a lot about myself.
Be sure you are away from a lot of people, noise, and commotion. I enjoyed redwood and pine forests in the mountains.
Don't get into the habit, though. Years after your last trip you are more likely to develop severe depression (per the medical literature).
