Both things you stated happened to me. I had braces, and I was really worried it wold hurt, but I didn't feel a thing. When I got my two teeth extracted, well...the first one hurt a lot, the second one I didn't feel anything. I don't mean to scare you or anything, its just that the teeth that hurted, its root was completly raped around my adult tooth growing under. So it depends how bad your tooth is.

getting braces doesn't hurt. your teeth are only sore after, but if you take asprin that goes away too.
I have braces and i'm 11. I would ask for wax if the brace tries to cut your lip. Don't worry about it your dentist or orthodontist will take great care of you. They will answer any questions you have!! =)
umm my friend was crying when he got his braces. When they pull your teeth it dosent hurt though because they put some liquid to make it numb first.
I have been wearing braces for almost 2 years now and what I can say is that it'll make your whole mouth sore for about 2 weeks, then you get used to it. It's not that bad really..
And yes, extracting teeth HURTS. O_O Good luck. You'll do fine. They'll inject you with anesthesia anyway so you wouldn't feel the pain much.. *or however you spell it*

With regard to the extraction, there will be some discomfort at best. You can eliminate the bulk of pain with proper anesthesia and good post-operative pain control (like Tylenol 3).

pain, more pain, and more pain!!! scratches up the lips and more pain!! but only lasts for a week!

I had the same situation many years ago (10 plus) and it wasnt that bad. The puling of the teeth did not really hurt, to be honest. The braces were more uncomfortable than painful; sometimes the metal would cut into my cheeks but they give you wax for that. I imagine there are more options these days as to metal vs invisible...the worst part of the process was spacers, little blue disks inserted in between the teeth before the braces were put on, it was impossible and painful to eat but other than that, the appearance was the downside. Braces are worth it though, your smile will be beautiful.

Your dentist should give you wax for when they start to hurt, if they do at all.

Braces don't hurt the first day you get them on.
All they do is clean your teeth, put this glue on your teeth, place on pads, tie wires, and thats it.
It dosen't hurt.
The spacers more than likely will not pop out. Just be sure to eat soft food for a good two weeks or so. Try: ice cream, jello, mashed potatoes, pudding, and soup.
the day before you should make sure that your lips arent all dried out cuz they are gonna stretch your lips out and if your lips are dry its going to hurt. dont be afraid if the spacers are going pop out, they wont unless you eat something realy sticky like taffy
