Listerine or Crest Pro Health?!

Question: Which is better?

Answers: Which is better?

Great ?, I have done a study on the comparison of both products for my table clinic in hygiene school! Most like the burn of Listerine thinking that it is the alcohol and that it is what is killing the bacteria. In fact the alcohol is not an active ingredient and is just there to hold together the essential oils which are the active ingredients. Crest pro health uses CPC as its active ingredient. Both products kill germs and reduce gingivitis. But in the pilot study that I conducted, the CPC rinse (Crest Pro Health) proved to stay in the oral cavity longer and therefore kills bacteria longer. One of the studies i researched was a double blinded study having a group of people only one side of their teeth leaving the other side unbrushed. half of them rinsed with Listerine and the outer half rinsed with a CPC rinse. This both studies showed that Crest Pro health works as well as Listerine in killing bacteria and preventing gingivitis but the crest pro health does its job longer! I one first place!

Well...

It's a subjective question (both will prove that they are better). I like Listerine.

Listerine, because it kills bacteria. It's actually better to look into using Omni Fluoride with the Stannous Ion because that is proven to kill the bacteria that causes cavities and it strengthens the enamel of the teeth.

LISTERNINE IS BETTER

Listerine is more effective as an oral antiseptic because it contains alcohol, but i prefer the taste of crest pro health.

Listerine!

Listerine all the way.
Unless you are a recovering alcholic then Crest Pro Health.

The only negative about Listerine is that it has a slight burning feel to it. But i'm sure you can toughen up for 30 seconds, haha.

Everyone says Listerine, and so do I - but here's why.

Crest Pro Health tastes awful. It's got a thick consistency, and leaves a film in your mouth and it's really unpleasant.

Listerine "burns" but it works great! Blue and Green are some of the best flavors.

Crest Pro Health can stain your teeth over a period of time, so I vote for Listerine.

crest pro health contains stannous fluoride, which is why the other person said about the staining... stannous fluoride can stain your teeth. The amount in crest would take a really really long time to have any effect, tho.

Listerine is the only over the counter product to have the ADA (American Dental Association) seal for fighting gingivitis and calculus. So unless you can't have alcohol, it's probably the best.
