Do you swallow while you sleep?
My nan was wondering this the other day. My family always wake up with a dry mouth and we have always wondered if when you are asleep you swallow.
does anybody know?

Your mind functions very little while you sleep. Swallowing takes many nerve vessels that need to be transported from your brain. It would be the same as you putting your hand on something hot and your brain waves sending a message that OUCH THATS HOT. Do you swallow while you sleep? No. You can if your not in a deep sleep, and flopping about. In a good REM sleep you do not swallow.
