Anyone ever hear of using small store bought rubberbands around teeth to close a!

Anyone ever hear of using small store bought rubberbands around teeth to close a gap between them?

Dental care is not affordable to me, and I am looking for a way to close the nearly 1/4" space between my two teeth.

I'm sure it has been tried, but I don't know that I would recommend it. The problem is, even if you could move two teeth together than the spaces will still be there but just on the sides of the other two teeth. The elastics could also cause an issue with your gums as well and if you get an infection it could send you to a medical provider if bad enough. I wish I had another alternative to recommend!
