Tooth pain?!

Question:

Tooth pain?

i was chewing gum before, and my jaw kinda slipped, and bit down hard onto my teeth, and now one of my upper teeth, near the middle of the mouth is being really sensetive, like with cold and hot, even breathing deeply will set it off, and it is irritating. it kinda aches when pressure is put on it. 1) should I make a dental appointment, or see how it goes, because it might disappear, and 2) should i take some paracetamol or something? would it help with the pain? thanks.

Answers:

Sounds like you might have put a small chip in your tooth. You need to go see the dentist and let them check it out to make sure and if you did do that, they can put a small filling on it to fix the problem. You can take 200mg of ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours for pain as needed until you can get to the dentist - the dentist can give you a prescription for a pain killer once they find out what the problem it.
