Questions about deep cavitys?!

Question: the dentist said that i have a deep cavity on my last tooth on the left. i am only 14. i went in for a filling, but they said i would have to have a root canal because my cavity is too deep. do i have a deep cavity if it only touches my dentin, i think thats what it is called. and also, is there another way to avoid a root canal, like oulling the tooth instead. please hurry and answer.

if it only touches your dentine, then it is not too deep..

but if it touches your dentine and exposed your pulp, then it is deep and u will have to do root canal treatment

if u dont want a root canal, then the other choice is to extract your tooth

ask your dentist for an xray of your tooth and ask him to explain and show you how deep the cavity is and whether the cavity has exposed the pulp or not

hope this will help

hey listen , try asking your dentist about the pulp capping options for your tooth , its either this or u have to do root canal treatment , or extraction
