See an MD now. Is not likely coming from rt canal. I have done many hundreds & never saw that afterwards. Is just a co incidence!! Doc W

no it is not. no fever is good get her to a doctor right away!

a fever over 100 is what the doctors office would be concerned about as this is a symptom of infection. you should call your doctor right away.

Get her to a doctor. Root canal therapy is usually only performed in the absence of infection, but if one was present and the therapy was undertaken anyway, this could cause problems. Seek medical attention.

I work in a Dental surgery for a endontologist and a high fever is never anything that we would hear of after RCT..Ive never had anyone complain about that, you should ring the surgery and speak to the doctor who did the RCT for her! She may need an antibiotic, but call the surgery to find out! has she got any other symptoms?

Call any urgent care. It's Saturday and you may not be able to get ahold of anyone at the office the root canal was done at. Just look in the phone book. It doesn't sound like a grave emergency, but if you are out of town and can't find anything then you could try 911 for advice on where to take her.

you must get medical attention asap

the fever can be the worse and most dangerous

forget the dentist

adress the fever now!!!

go to hospital

As per the general convention, root canals are never performed on children and dentists always wait for the child to become at least 16 or 18 since root canal involves administration of anesthesia. however, since your daughter underwent the surgery anyways, I think that running fever after root canal is not normal and there is obviously some or the other infection involved. get it check by a thorough professional dentist
Also, do not administer excessive doses of Tylenol to her as her body is still not that mature to take multiple doses.
In such cases always consult a good doctor. he is the bets person who will guide you.

I'm a dentist.

Jesus F-ing Christ! Doesn't anyone in this miserable country of ours know when to use punctuation?

Now, on to your daughter's problem. First off, some additional information would have been very helpful; the most obvious being when she had the root canal performed. Also, it would have been helpful to know if the tooth was infected or even symptomatic prior to treatment.

Generally, most dental infections do not cause fever or malaise unless they have become quite severe (often times you will see significant swelling associated with severe infections). There are exceptions, of course.

In the case of your daughter, while I cannot rule out a dental infection as a cause of her fever, I can say with some confidence that there is probably another cause. She could be having an allergic reaction to any medications she's taking. It is also entirely possible that the "ordeal" of having a root canal has made her more vulnerable to catching a some sort of viral infection. Although fever is uncommon with colds, it can nonetheless occur.

Take her back to the dentist and have her evaluated. If the dentist finds no dental cause of her illness, take her to her pediatrician. Do not wait, however. Do it ASAP.
