Temp filling falling out, In a molar that had a root canal..?!
Question: Had a root canal on my molar, and got a temp filling.... Well it like eroded or actually fell out, or something.... and I have to pick the food out when I eat.. well I noticed that I almost picked out the cotton.....
My mom is the stupidiest person in the world and won't take me to a dentist, nor can i afford to do it myself.....
Question, what will happen if my tooth is exposed?
will it just die and fall out?
Basically can it jsut be left alone, its a molar so i dont care if i lose it, i just dont want to die from an infection,,,, and if it does fall out and then my tooth do i just let my gums heal....
I know most of you will say,,, tell my mom.... She knows she dosent care....

If you've had a root canal you aren't in danger of any infection just yet. However, with the canals being exposed like they are, bacteria will eventually infiltrate and cause the treatment to fail. If your mom is so dumb as to spend the $$$$ on a root canal but not finish the treatment [at least getting a filling in the access preparation] then I don't know what to tell you. If she won't take you to the dentist then go to the Rx and get some temporary filling material [ask the druggist] and a plastic syringe. Squirt a mixture of 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water up into the hole and then wash the spot out with plain water. Put some cotton in there to dry the area out as best you can [remove the cotton] and then push the temp. material up in there until the space is completely filled up. This will hold you for a while and keep the food and bacteria from getting in. Good luck!
What will happen is your nerves will be exposed (the ones left after the root canal) and it will cause severe pain.
Make an appointment and get seen as soon as possible. You don't want the food that you missed to get stuck down in the tooth and cause more decay or worse, infection.
This is a serious problem and you need dental attention right away.
Talk to your mother. You probably have insurance. Call the dentist yourself and make an appointment if she won't listen.
you have to go to the dentist!!!!! I had this happen and i left it alone and because of the hole and its exposed and you get stuff in it it got infected and they had to take it out! So go in before you have to get it out! you will sooooooo regret it if you dont!!!
The tooth needs to have a crown or else it will either get re-infected of shatter apart.
Sucks I know, but it is what it is.
