Hello,

After your surgery gets over you should stick to liquid /semi solid diet for next 3-4 days, avoid chewing or biting hard.
You can eat porridge,mashed potatoes,Milkshakes(donot use a straw),Icecream,Instant Pudding,oatmeal etc.
Very cold water should also be avoided, as it may increase pain.

No you shouldnot gargle your mouth after surgery,as it will dislocate the clots thus hamoering the healing.
After 24 hours you can start with warm water saline rinses-start rinsing frequently with hot salt water solution-dissolve ?-teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of water as hot as you can tolerate without burning your mouth, and rinse for two minutes every four hours, this will provide you relief.

Your stiches will be removed after 7 days, no it is not painful, sometimes resorbable stiches are used and they donot require any removal.

Thanks

soft diet is best for you eg: yoghurt, soups, scrambeld egg
leave it a few days before rinsing then use warm salty wter and do it very gently.
depends on the stitches used they may disolve them selves or you may have to go back in about 7-10 days..

good luck

i had this 2 years ago 2 times on 4 of my teeth..

1. Anything soft.. icecream, apple sauce, jello, pudding, smoothies, rice

2. yeah you are susposed to gargle salt water (it almost makes your stiches go away faster)

3. Well i had about 10 stiches in my mouth and mine just dissolved.. they came out about a week after the surgery.
