Can a 1 year old's teeth "just" fall out?!

Question:

Can a 1 year old's teeth "just" fall out?

I have a dimwitted half-sister.
Her 15 month old daughter has now lost 3 of her baby teeth. The first two that fell out, my sister wasn't around. The child was about 10 months old. The "father" doesn't know what happened, they were just "gone" one day. Then recently, now that my half sister has the kid back, the child's top tooth was just hanging on by a root. My half sister ended up just pulling it out. The child has now lost a total of 3 teeth. Her two bottom front teeth, and one front top tooth. She's asked the doctor about it, but they said to ask a dentist. She's on welfare, so I have no idea if she has access to a dentist.
Does anyone know what would cause a child that young to have her teeth fall out without them being rotted or having hit anything? My only thought would be maybe nutrition, or some sort of gum disease.

Just to add more details. I am not around the child at all. So I haven't seen her. My mother sees the children. As far as my mother is aware she has not hit anything. She already walks, and has been for a while. My sister has taken her to the doctor. But the doctor just said to take her to the dentist, because he didn't know. As of yet, I don't think my sister has taken her to the dentist. I did file a CPS complaint against her back in December, but she moves so much they haven't been able to track her down.

Oh yes, and I know what milk teeth are. But these were not "milk" teeth. These were her baby teeth. They came in when they were supposed to come in. Milk Teeth are usually teeth babies are born with, and those will fall out. These are not milk teeth.

Obviously the child needs to be taken to a dentist. And these teeth falling out isn't normal. But I'm not around the child. Hence, why I was asking if anyone would maybe know the problem. Trying to see if maybe a dentist is reading this and may know the answer. I'm just curious as to why they'd "just" fall out.

Answers:

just call a dentist and ask them. If the gums look healthy and the holes look healthy then don't worry about it. The new ones come in about 5-6 yrs.old. If the pediatrician is not worried you shouldn't be either.
