Why rinse with war m salt water after an oral-surgery (wisdom tooth extraction)?!

Lots of answers but the correct one is that it doesn't hemolize [dissolve] the clot while it's washing away some of the bacteria that are growing on it.

salt has healing and antiseptic properties.

Cleans the wound and helps healing. Salt water is a very old and successful remedy.

Salt is well known to cure open sores and it also sterilizes the wound site. I'm sure it has some properties that work well that a scientist can explain.

it is real effective at rinsing germs from an area....

All dentist use salt water, it is disinfectant , it stays in the mouth longer
