Sodium bicarbonate ie.baking soda,bread soda,....?!

Question: bicarb soda, bicarbonate of soda, sodium hydrogen carbonate or sodium bicarbarbonate

Ive heard that this can be good for whitening teeth....would it be safe to do this while pregnant? My teeth need a little help lately and obviously I cant use over the counter stuff-too risky.

Obviously i wont try it if its gona effect baby in any way! :)
