The best topical treatment for ulcers is bee propolis tincture, which you can buy from health food shops. You can apply it on a cotton bud, which stings a bit, but leaves a waxy protective coat. Re-apply as often as you need. You can also make up a soothing mouthwash by putting a few drops in some warm water.

For an over-the-counter medicine the best is Aloclair (see link) which is available as a spray and mouthwash. It's aloe vera based and very effective, but more expensive than using propolis.

Long term, as already suggested, using a toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) may help, but the research on that is a bit patchy.

a good multi vit and mineral tablet...n see the dentist

as Boppstar but try rinsing your mouth out with Listerene twice a day. That will help to kill the bugs but you need to address the underlying problems as well. See your doctor or dentist.

mouth ulcers are usually due to stress and can be treated with Bongela or if particularly bad you may need doctors advice especially if they look infected. They can prescribe you something to help.
To prevent them is quite difficult, you need to exclude the stress and if not stressed then make sure your oral hygiene is good by brushing teeth, cheeks and tongue when brushing teeth and using a good mouthwash after brushing. Although using a mouthwash with mouth ulcers may be eye watering!

A lot of them can be food related. Stop eating acidy foods, ( citrus, tomato) they will go away. There are also otc meds you can get to help relieve the pain.

Try putting marmite on it, i've tried it in the past and it worked

Eating a good, healthy diet, avoiding too much stress and getting plenty of sleep will improve your immune system, so you don't get mouth ulcers so often. And be sure to brush your teeth twice daily and use a mouthwash.
There are several topical medication on sale in pharmacies (I recently saw at least 5 different ones in Boots); Bonjela is the cheapest, but isn't hugely effective. Others cost about
