I was thinking about signing up for AmeriPlan for discounts, anyone have any fee!

Question: I'm having some problems with a wisdom tooth that's comming in and I don't have any dental coverage at all. It will be at least a couple of months before I do. I found out about AmeriPlan and I've been doing some research. From what I've found out, it seems like so long as I call ahead and make sure these places actually take it, it's a really good deal.

Anyone out there have any experiences using it, good or bad?

I personally use their plans as well, and I decided to become an ibo with them because I knew there were so many people I knew who could use this and now I have many of my friends and family who use the plans also.

Most often people experience dramatic savings throughout. But even if they only save a small amount, depending on what it is that they are having done, that small amount still is a savings and typically pays for the plan itself and then some.

The fact that Ameriplan allows anyone and everyone to search for providers in their area, and get access to names, phone numbers & addresses for these providers, all before every signing up as a member, that in itself says a lot for the integrity of the company.

And either way, if you do not have dental coverage at all, and you are having problems with a wisdom tooth, then you are going to have to get something done so why not save some money and see for yourself exactly how well it works. Shoot it's only $19.95/mo. & a one time $20 registration fee to get you started. So you are looking at roughly $40 and you could even be at the dentist this week if need be!

I hope this helps you out!

Update: To answer your question...
There is nothing that states you must be member for a year for anything. It's actually all done month by month with no long contracts period.

I've never heard of the plan but it would make sense that they would consider your problem pre-existing and not cover it for the first 12 months. Why don't you go to a teaching hospital? They have student dentists there who do the work for free or a greatly reduced rate for people who can't afford dental insurance. Also, if you have medical insurance you might want to check and see if any of your wisdom tooth removal would be covered. Sometimes, if it is bony impacted, it is considered a medically covered expense.

I know someone that had their plans and got decent discounts. Careington Dental Discount plans give better dental discounts.
