Oh, that stinks!! I had one of those piercings in my college days, but took it out to avoid the Mom freakout!! HAHA:) I think it wouldn't get infected, as long as you kept it cleaned and Neosporined while healing. Also be sure to rinse often with mouthwash to keep it clean from the inside. I would call a piercing shop and ask them just to be sure. In the mean time, try and talk your mom into letting you keep it:)
