i have braces and am going to my first appointment to get them tightened....does it hurt during and afterwards? for how long?
Answers:
It will feel a little tight, but within I'd say two to four hours, some of your teeth will start to ache and become pretty sensitive. Usually they dont all hurt at one time, just certain ones, but it makes it painful to chew. Take some Tylenol, it won't help much when it comes time to eat, but it will take away the ache in between. I love to sip hot hot tea, it seems to make the pain seem less.
It doesn't last a long time though, maybe 4-6 days and you be back to normal.
