It's doesn't hurt at all...we provide topical anesthetic & local anesthetic before starting the procedure. Some people have discomfort for a few hours when the anesthetic wears off but other than that, you should be fine.
well they will obviously numb you up so you won't feel a thing, and you'll be in discomfort for about a week. that's how it was for me. good luck.
I just had a root canal done a month ago. It doesn't hurt at all. You honestly have nothing to worry about. I'm a big sissy, and even I was surprised how I barely even felt a thing!

its not bad these days...they numb you and are much better with the process. it just sounds bad

Well, wouldn't you know, I just had TWO root canals done in one sitting, both on the top, but opposite sides of my mouth! I had to get a total of 6 shots of novacaine, which did hurt a bit. Also, keeping my mouth open that long made my jaw sore, but that was the worst of it. Now the numbness in my face is very annoying, and I'm starting to get a little sore. I don't know what to expect next!
the pain will last for about 2 days but no more than that. dont eat solids and keep the guaze in your mouth and you'll be fine
